Random thoughts about everything and nothing…
How long could I live without my gadgets? No e-mail, cell phone, computer or internet usage. I don’t think so! Don’t expect me to try that experiment because “My name is Theo and I’m a Tech Junkie”. I honestly don’t think I could do it. My life is tied to using some form of technology on a daily basis. We’ve become so attached to this stuff to the point that letting go is close to impossible. How would my wife get a hold of me if she needed me? How would I communicate with my clients? I’m a computer programmer, how would I do my job? I’ve heard people say it’s liberating to live without it. The job and friends no longer have immediate access to you. Whatever. If I don’t want to talk to you, I won’t answer my phone. While a day or two without my tech gear is needed now and then, anything too long just makes things worse. Yes, I have a problem and I’m not afraid to admit it. How long could you live without your gadgets?

I admit that I too am a techno-holic…acceptance is the first step…lol. My gadgets are so tied to my work that I couldn’t go a minute without them…I might not cry, but I think I would lose alot of sleep!

I could only do it if I were on vacation…definitely couldn’t do it in the middle of a work week. My most important gadget right now is my Zune, I’d die at work and on my commute if I couldn’t listen to my music!

My one gadget is my phone. I use it for my phone, calendar, email, web (EVDO), GPS and mp3 player. Without it I could live, but it would suck sometimes to not have it.

Started crying?! Felt pain?! Now that’s just hilarious! I couldn’t help but laugh. But I can’t be too hard–I’d have trouble as well (don’t expect any tears though). I think technology is just part of what we do everyday and is almost necessary. For me it’s phone and laptop. They’re part of work and everyday life. I could do without them if push came to shove (and I won’t shake like a fiend going through withdrawals) but it would be tough. Post a comment
